Smoky Mountain Getaway!

Steve and I just got back from an amazingly beautiful trip to the Smoky Mountains! Steve had planned this trip as an anniversary celebration for us in July. Things got busy and the trip was postponed till October but we enjoyed it so much more! The fall leaves were in full color and there were so many beautiful sights to see! We stayed at a quiet bed and breakfast called Christopher Place. The grounds and gardens were beautiful, our room was cozy, the staff warm and accomodating, and the food delicious! We enjoyed peaceful reading in rockers on the balcony overlooking the Smokies, hanging out in the library/pub and talking with Marsten, and playing with the resident cat "Christopher". On our days out exploring, we had fun walking around the arts and craft shops in Gatlinburg, seeing the sights from our sky-lift ride up the Smokies, hiking up to Hen Wallow Falls, reading in the mountains, going up to Clingman's Dome,( the highest point in Tennessee), eating at the Front Porch (the only place where you can get Mexican food with a hint of bluegrass and have it served to you by an 85 year old woman!), and of course visiting the Incredible Christmas Place in Pigeon Forge!! From the moment we drove down the road to Christopher Place to begin our trip till the sunset we saw on our drive home...the whole trip was unforgettable! I'm so lucky to have a husband that knows the value of spending quality time together! Thanks for a wonderful trip honey! I will remember it for a long time to come. Happy 6 years!

You got some really great pictures! I guess we'll have to go sometime, I say that all the time, but then we run out of time to go anywhere, but I think we really will make it to the Smokey Mountains in the next couple of years! You know, I never really pictured Steve as much of a cat person.

What beautiful pictures. It looks like you had a fantastic time. It is so fun to take little trips here and there and spend time together and get away from reality.

Gracie asked me today what Steve and Christy are going to be for Halloween. She also wanted to go see Jared at work for lunch and see Steve and Christy again. I don't know what sparked her interest with you guys today, but you were on her mind!! We'll have to arrange some day to all meet up there for lunch soon.
